Budapest (VNA) – The Speaker of the National Assembly (NA), Vuong Dinh Hue, received a delegation from the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association led by its President Botz László in Budapest on June 27.
Hue said the ongoing official visit of the Vietnamese high-ranking NA delegation to Hungary aims to further promote and deepen the comprehensive partnership between the two countries and the cooperation between the two parliaments in particular, opening up new prospects. in bilateral relations as well as enhanced coordination between the two countries at regional and international forums in the context of complex global developments.
Underlining the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries over the past 70 years, the top lawmaker said Vietnam cherishes and always hopes to strengthen its multifaceted ties with Hungary – Vietnam’s top comprehensive partner in Central Europe. and oriental.
For his part, László reviewed the main stages of the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Associationsince its establishment in 1989, and highlighted a number of activities the association has carried out recently and its plans to promote Hungary-Vietnam friendship in the field of people-to-people diplomacy, thus contributing to the growth of the comprehensive partnership between the two countries.
He recalled his memories of Vietnam during the war and praised the positive progress in the ties between the two countries, while stressing that the leaders of the association had the chance to join in meaningful activities during the visit of the Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in Hungary in 2018, during which Vietnam and Hungary elevated their relationship to a comprehensive partnership.
Hue said Vietnam always remembers Hungary’s support for Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and reunification, and its current process of national construction and development, while looking forward to the growing partnership. between the two countries in many areas as well as fruitful cooperation. between the two legislatures.
He praised the active operations of the Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association and the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association, while expressing his hope that the two associations will continue to increase their cooperation through more exchanges of delegations, thus sensitizing the Vietnamese and the Hungarians, in particular among young people, of the good relations between the two countries. They should diversify their people-to-people exchanges and contribute more to the development of ties between the two countries, he said.
The Supreme Legislator also expressed his hope that with their experience and reputation, the leaders of the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association will continue to coordinate closely with the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary as well as with Vietnamese organizations in the countries to effectively implement activities in both countries.
Hue said economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries remains modest compared to their good bilateral political relations and potential for collaboration. The leaders of the two countries shared the desire to further expand and accelerate the bilateral partnership, especially in the areas of economy, trade, investment, education and science and technology, he said.
