International Association of Policy Consultants concludes successful conference

Virtual conference awards Medal for Democracy to Alexie Navalny and names new president and board of directors for 2022-24

The International Association of Policy Consultants (IPAC) recently concluded its 54e annual conference held virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Participants from around the world, including Africa, Australia, Europe, North and South America, discussed a wide variety of topics focused on elections and democracy. At the end of the two-day conference, he presented the prestigious Democracy Prize to imprisoned Russian democracy leader Alexei Navalny.

“Although this is a virtual conference, we were able to have informative and interesting presentations ranging from ‘Threats and Challenges to Democracy’ to ‘Campaigning in Africa’ to ‘State of the Political Polls'” , said Matt Klink, President-elect of IPAC. “IPAC brings together leading political consultants to share thoughts, good practices and promote the democratic process.

Past President of IPAC Mauricio De Vengoechea added: “I would like to thank Brent Buchanan and the conference organizers for organizing a wonderful conference. Keynote speakers included Guillermo Lasso, President of Ecuador, Raquel Pena, Vice President of the Dominican Republic, Jeff Roe, campaign consultant to Virginia Governor-elect Glen Youngkin, and Anita Dunn, former senior adviser to US President Biden. Conference attendees also heard from Celinda Lake, Dr Reza Kazemi, Ekatrina Egorova, Nic Chessman and Dr Tom Palmer.

At the end of the conference, members elected a new board of directors and passed a series of resolutions. The next IPAC conference is scheduled for London, England, November 13-16, 2022. Details will be communicated on the IPAC website.

Founded in 1968, IPAC brings its members together at its annual meeting to exchange views and information on political developments and campaign techniques.
