Business & Finance Awards, in association with KPMG, now open to nominations – Business & Finance

The Business & Finance Awards 2021, in association with KPMG Ireland, are now open for applications.

Business and finance was launched in 1964 as Ireland’s first business magazine with the awards program established a decade later. The Business & Finance Awards are Ireland’s premier business awards program, and among its previous winners are outstanding leaders of our time in business, politics and society at large. This includes former United States President Bill Clinton, former British Prime Minister Sir John Major, former Irish President Mary Robinson, former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, President Michael D. Higgins, l former ECB President Mario Draghi, former Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Senator George Mitchell and Sir Bob Geldof, among others.

The awards program is open to nominations for a number of prestigious awards that honor and celebrate the best in Irish and international business. The six program categories include the 2021 Company of the Year in association with KPMG; Business Person of the Year in association with KPMG; Elevation Award in association with Enterprise Ireland; IDE of the year in association with IDA Ireland and the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Award, now in its third year and the new environmental, social and governance category.

Environment, Social and Governance Award

The ESG prize rewards companies that make exceptional contributions to ESG by having a clear strategy on environmental, social and governance indicators. The ESG award aims to highlight that ESG is now an essential component of business strategy and will reward companies that have a proven track record in designing and implementing a coordinated ESG strategy.

The esteemed jury includes Seamus Hand, KPMG, Anne Heraty, CPL plc., Danny McCoy, Ibec, Kevin Sherry, Company Ireland and Mary Harney, Former Tanaist.

Awards gala ceremony February 2022

On February 17, 2022, the awards program will welcome the community of business leaders to the Convention Center Dublin to honor business leaders and companies who have persevered through an extraordinary 2021. The awards ceremony will feature contributions from a range of Irish and international businesses, political and social leaders.

In 2019, Dalata Plc received the “Company of the Year” award. Pat McCann, CEO of the company, in an interview with Business and finance, said the “Company of the Year” award gave Dalata the “stamp of approval” and helped them see their business objectively: “The problem is, when you’re in a business, you look at it. always from an inside perspective, but what do people outside your company think? So of course when you get something like that, it gives you a bit of a boost in your process to keep going and actually improving what you’re doing.

Ian Hyland, editor of Business & Finance, welcomed the launch, saying: The 2021 Business & Finance Awards program will embrace and reflect the dynamic global market in which Irish businesses operate, especially in a post-COVID world. This year’s awards will follow and honor outstanding entrepreneurs, business leaders and leadership teams on their journey to what is now a new standard for business.


Nominations for this year’s awards program are now open until the end of October 2021. Nominations are chosen from the monthly Business & Finance Awards for Company of the Month, Businessman of the Month and of the FDI of the month, as well as nominations from our jury. .
